wa-shūvḥhōn tvīhā w-zūwrāī ʿāūlhōn estaraq.

and their shameful glory and the lie of their wickedness were emptied out.

rēshā d-da-yrhōn mdabḥ l-shēdē bēh ettazraq:

The head of their temple, who sacrificed to demons, was scattered by him,

wa-ʿṭap behtthā kul d-lēh ḥabar w-āp ethharṭaq.

and shame wrapped everyone who was joined to him, and he was also put to flight.

pḥōr qeryāyē harsyōṭ bēh estraqraq:

The band of heretical villagers turned pale before him,

w-āp shūwāryhōn nḥeth l-ḥez bālʿath w-ṭāv etṭlaqlaq.

and even their walls went down to the pit that swallows, and were utterly destroyed.

shūprēh d-avūn b-pūmā d-khlnāsh sagī ezdmar:

The beauty of our father is sung greatly in the mouth of everyone,

wa-qhal l-wātēh kenshā d-aḥē w-tarāwhī katar.

and a company of brothers gathered to him and waited at his doors.

b-ʿamlē shvīḥē da-myatrth d-lā sākh ethgmar:

In the praiseworthy labours of the virtues he was perfected without end,

w-rēḥ d-w-bārwhī b-kul athrwān pāḥ (h)wā w-aʿtr.

and the fragrance of his deeds blew in all places and spread abundantly.

āklqarṣā da-ḥzā ʿamlāwhī estmī w-ethghar:

The Accuser, who saw his works, was blinded and bowed down,

wa-b-nūr ḥsāmā d-b-īshūth yaṣrēh īqed w-eshtagar

and in the fire of envy of his evil nature he burned and was kindled.

tedmrān d-lā sākh b-ʾīdaī avūn ethplaḥ w-estʿar:

Wonders without end were worked and done by the hands of our father,

wa-b-pūqdānēh l-da-ywē tvīhē pkar (h)wā w-esar.

and at his command he restrained the shamed demons and bound them.

men da-b-ʿamlē ʿāghrē ʿmylē lēwtā saybr:

As with him who bore heavy, wearying labours for Leah,

so the Lord willed that he should rest in the haven of life and in shelter.

He brought his ship to reach the rest where there is no trading,

w-ḥamlēh l-ʿūthrēh b-gāzēh rabā w-lēh ʿabad ḥūrār.
